Another Switch Bluetooth audio adapter is on the way from CyberGadget

The Switch has a Bluetooth radio built-into it, however this is used exclusively for communications with wireless controllers. As a result, support for Bluetooth-enabled audio device simply isn’t available (to be fair, this is also the case on PS4 and Xbox One).

Nintendo hasn’t offered an official solution for this, so numerous third-party manufacturers have stepped up to the plate with solutions for their own.

The latest one is from Japanese manufacturer CyberGadget, which has designed quite a number of different peripherals for the Switch. Its new Blueooth adapter allows audio devices to connect to the Switch in both docked and handheld mode. When docked, it can be connected to the system via one of the USB ports on the dock. In handheld mode, the adapter is inserted into the USB-C port on the Switch itself. Fear not, it includes an open port of its own which will allow you to charge the system while continuing to use the functionality of the adapter.

The CyberGadget Switch Bluetooth Adapter is going on sale in Japan in April and will be sold for 7,344 yen (which comes out to being a pretty steep $66.06 USD). There’s no telling if this will officially be brought over to the West, but you can at least look for ways to import it.

Having been introduced to video games at the age of 3 via a Nintendo 64, A.K has grown up in the culture. A fan of simulators and racers, with a soft spot for Nintendo! But, he has a great respect for the entire video game world and enjoys watching it all expand as a whole.
